DNS Leak Test

Even with a VPN active, your DNS queries can quietly reveal your real location to your ISP. Run a quick check to find out.

We'll send DNS queries and compare the resolving server's apparent location against your detected IP location.

What is a DNS leak?

A DNS leak occurs when your device sends domain name lookup requests outside of your encrypted VPN tunnel, typically straight to your Internet Service Provider's default DNS servers. This means that even though your traffic content is encrypted, your ISP — and potentially third parties on the network path — can still see exactly which websites and services you're connecting to, defeating a core purpose of using a VPN in the first place.
